Instructors can run and process their courses independently and issue certification cards immediately from their own bank of AHA eCards. This allows you to maintain control of your schedule, your students, and how you operate your training programs.
As your Training Site, we are always available to provide guidance, support, and resources whenever needed. At the same time, we respect your independence and give you the freedom to run your classes and grow your business in the way that works best for you. Your own e-cards
As an authorized American Heart Association Training Site, we streamline certification by allowing instructors to purchase e-Cards in advance and issue them immediately after class. Many Training Centers take days or even weeks to deliver certification cards, but with us, students often receive theirs the same day—sometimes before class is even dismissed.
Aligned instructors maintain their own inventory of e-Cards, which can be replenished at any time, ensuring certifications are always ready.
You’ll also gain access to our class management software, enabling real-time course processing and one-click card issuance. This saves time, reduces administrative work, and eliminates delays commonly experienced with traditional Training Centers, helping you run more efficient, professional classes.
We Will Help Fill
Your Classes
One of the biggest challenges instructors face is finding students. That’s where we come in.
We can actively promote your classes through our website and marketing channels, connecting you with students who are ready to register. When a student enrolls through our platform and attends your class, we pay you a per-student fee for that registration. We do not collect fees for students you enroll yourself and you aren’t obligated to use our platform.
This means you benefit from increased visibility and consistent referrals—without having to do all the marketing yourself.

Steps to Become an AHA CPR Instructor
Requirements can vary by discipline and Training Center. East Coast Safety Consulting will help you identify the applicable steps before you register.
Choose the Discipline You Want to Teach
Select the instructor pathway that matches your goals, such as BLS or Heartsaver CPR, First Aid, and AED.
Hold the Required Provider Certification
Instructor candidates must have a current provider-level course completion card in the discipline they wish to teach and be proficient in the required skills.
Apply and Receive Training Center Acceptance
Complete the required instructor-candidate paperwork and receive acceptance before beginning the instructor-course process.
Complete the Online Instructor Essentials Portion
Finish the required online learning and retain the completion certificate for entry into the classroom portion.
Attend the Classroom Instructor Course
Participate in instructor-led training covering course preparation, teaching methods, skills evaluation, program standards, and course administration.
Complete Your Instructor Monitoring
Demonstrate your ability to teach and evaluate students while being observed by authorized Training Faculty.
Complete Registration and Alignment
After all requirements are successfully completed, finish the applicable AHA registration and alignment process and receive your Instructor eCard.
Maintain Your Instructor Status

What is the difference between a BLS Instructor and a Heartsaver Instructor?
A BLS Instructor is trained to teach Basic Life Support courses commonly required by healthcare professionals. A Heartsaver Instructor teaches CPR, AED, First Aid, and related courses generally intended for people with limited or no medical training.

Do I need a current provider card before taking the instructor course?

Can I teach CPR classes part-time?
Yes. Many instructors teach evenings, weekends, private group sessions, workplace classes, or occasional community courses while maintaining another career.
Does completing Instructor Essentials make me an instructor?
No. Instructor Essentials is one part of the process. Candidates must also complete the classroom instructor course, required monitoring, registration, alignment, and any applicable Training Center requirements before receiving an Instructor eCard.
What happens during instructor monitoring?
During monitoring, authorized Training Faculty observes the instructor candidate teaching an eligible course. The candidate must demonstrate appropriate preparation, instruction, skills demonstrations, student evaluation, remediation, and course administration.
How soon must I complete the monitoring portion?
Instructor candidates generally must successfully complete required monitoring within six months of completing the discipline-specific classroom instructor course. Additional requirements may be set by the accepting Training Center.

Yes. We offer provider-level courses and can help you identify the appropriate certification needed before beginning your instructor training.
Can I teach classes independently after becoming certified?
Instructors may organize and teach eligible courses subject to their Training Center or Training Site policies, current program requirements, equipment standards, course documentation rules, and eCard-processing procedures.
Do you provide equipment and course materials?
Equipment, manuals, supplies, and course-material arrangements vary. We will explain what is included with your instructor course and what you will need before teaching your own classes.
How much can a CPR instructor earn?
Instructor income varies widely based on course pricing, class size, location, expenses, scheduling frequency, marketing, and the types of organizations served. Instructor certification does not guarantee a particular income level.
Can current AHA instructors align with East Coast Safety Consulting?
Current instructors may apply for alignment. Approval depends on credential status, documentation, instructor history, service area, program requirements, and acceptance by the applicable Training Center or Training Site.
